BATT4EU Partnership

SAFELOOP is proud contributor to BATT4EU partnership. Through it’s activities, BATT4EU aims to contribute to EU’s ambition making Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050, through widespread adoption of e-mobility and stationary electrical energy storage.

To make this possible, BATT4EU’s vision is to establish by 2030 in Europe the best in the world innovation ecosystem to boost a competitive, sustainable and circular European battery value chain and to drive the transformation towards a carbon-neutral society.

BATT4EU is a Co-programmed Partnership established under Horizon Europe, the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation of the European Union. BATT4EU is a collaboration of the European Commission and European battery R&I stakeholders that are united in the Batteries European Partnership Association - BEPA. We could say that BEPA represents the private-side of the BATT4EU Partnership.

Sustainable batteries of the future

BATTERY 2030+ is an essential part of the European battery “ecosystem” inventing the sustainable batteries of the future.

Battery 2030+ is a large-scale research initiative with the aim to make Europe a world-leader in the development and production of the batteries of the future. These batteries will store more energy, have a longer life, be safer and more environmentally friendly than today’s batteries.  They will facilitate the transition towards a climate-neutral society based on clean energy and a circular economy.  This is a part of what is envisaged in the European Green Deal, as well as the European Action plan on Batteries and the European SET-plan

The research projects from 2023 on are launched under the BATT4EU Partnership and based on the long-term Battery 2030+ roadmap. It outlines research actions and battery technology for real-world applications as part of a European effort to establish battery cell manufacturing. It focuses on a chemistry enabling approach, including lithium-based, post-lithium, solid-state, silicon, sodium, and future chemistries.
